PGH: The “developmental” roster got a good look at what the Pittsburgh Penguins want them to become. They faced an NHL-calibre roster in their preseason game against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

PHI: This is starting to look like last season. The Philadelphia Flyers are again decimated by injuries — and the season hasn’t even started.

WSH: As Connor McMichael stands in the Washington Capitals dressing room, he looks — and sounds — like a different player.
