Calgary Flames Recall Defenceman From the AHL Wranglers

With Chris Tanev sidelined following an awkward hit from Ross Colton, Calgary General Manager Craig Conroy has brought in some short-term support on the blue line in the form of Nick DeSimone.

The offensively inclined defenceman has played eight games with he Flames this season recording four assists. The 29 year old has eight assists in ten games with the Wranglers. The East Amherst, New York, native logged 94:20 of even strength ice time with Nikita Zadorov when called up. The pairing were outscored 5-6 over that time.

The team also announced that 21 year old Matthew Coronato has been assigned to the Wranglers.
