Calgary Flames Notes

Oesterle Recalled

Per the Wranglers AHL site, Jordan Oesterle was recalled yesterday afternoon. Whether Chris Tanev was a question mark after blocking a shot with his face and receiving 12 stitches to his chin or some other defenseman is unavailable is unclear at this time. Stay tuned for lines morning skate lines.

Home Ice Advantage?

Home teams are 1-8-2 over the last 11 regular season matchups between Calgary and Dallas.

Riding High

Calgary enters tonight riding high in their saddles following a 2-1 overtime win over their divisional rivals, the Las Vegas Golden Knights. MacKenzie Weegar scored a coast-to-coast game winner with 4.8 seconds remaining in the five-minute OT period.

Coleman Heating Up

Blake Coleman now has eight points in his last 11 games. The winger from Plano, Texas had the Flames players over for Thanksgiving dinner last Thursday. His goal the following night against the Stars tied the game at 4-4.

Tidying Up

Dallas appears to have taken getting scored on seven times personally. Their next opponent, the Winnipeg Jets, got throttled to a 2-0 shutout on Tuesday.
The Flames will need to find passing outlets in all three lanes if they are to beat Dallas Head Coach Rick Bowness’ conservative neutral zone defence.
