We won't know until Monday's morning skate whether Matthew Phillips will play a second straight NHL game, but the kid showed he deserves it in limited action in Toronto. Meanwhile, the addition of a much bigger winger, Josh Anderson, continues to get play in the NHL trade rumour mill.

After all the hype, Matthew Phillips played just under 10 minutes in his debut this season, but got some powerplay time and didn't look out of place. Flames veterans are on notice that there's competition for jobs now as a result.

Darryl Sutter took a subtle shot at the refereeing after a skewed seven vs. two penalty calls were made in favour of the Toronto Maple Leafs, leading to three Leafs goals on six powerplays.

TSN: More NHL trade rumours as Josh Anderson is attracting significant interest for the Montreal Canadiens. He's big, so there's no doubt the Calgary Flames get mentioned.
