Game Day: Will Flames Be Missing Tanev Tonight Vs. Predators?

The Calgary Flames (5-3-0) host the Nashville Predators (3-6-1) at the Saddledome tonight (SN1) but they may be without top defender Chris Tanev, who has missed the past couple of skates.
Not that head coach Darryl Sutter was in a sharing mood. As he tends to do when asked about lineup decisions, he bristled when asked on Thursday morning about the likelihood of Tanev suiting up.
“Don’t waste time at press conferences asking about who plays, okay?” Sutter told reporters at the Saddledome. “Until here’s a mandate from the league that says who plays and who’s not, I don’t think it’s up to the head coach to give information to the other team.”
He said something similar earlier in the season when asked about a starting goaltender.
It’s the second-last game the Calgary Flames have at home before their first extended road trip next week. But they’ll have to play much better than they did on Tuesday against the Seattle Kraken to avoid a similar fate against the Preds. Giveaways plagued the Flames. And after the contest, Sutter called out star Jonathan Huberdeau.
The Predators are coming off a brutal loss in Edmonton and will be plenty motivated to exact some Alberta revenge.
