Calgary Flames (1-2-1) – Seattle Kraken (2-1-1)

The Flames will head to Seattle for their first matchup with the Kraken in their home arena Saturday night. The Flames are coming off a much needed 4-1 victory over the Canucks Friday night, where Calgary’s top players dominated from start to finish. Both top lines contributed goals and Jacob Markstrom was fantastic in his first preseason action.

The Kraken meanwhile collected a 2-1 victory over the Edmonton Oilers Friday night in overtime, giving them their second win of the preseason. Seattle’s other victory? A 4-3 SOW over these very Calgary Flames.

Tonight should be a slightly different affair as Calgary will be sending a completely different group of players to Seattle. There will be no Matthew Tkachuk, no Johnny Gaudreau, no Noah Hanifin, no Chris Tanev and Jacob Markstrom will be staying home as well. Also still missing from game play is Sean Monahan, who has yet to see any ice time this preseason. Instead, the Flames will be sending only a few veterans in Milan Lucic, Dillon Dube and Michael Stone. The rest of the Flames lineup will consist of journeymen and young players on the bubble trying to make the big club as opposed to being sent down to Stockton for the start of the season.

Puck drop is at 8 PM MT from Kent Washington.
