Is this the last year of patience?

Two years. It was over 2 full years between AHL games for the most frustrating Flames prospect in recent memory. After making 38 saves on 41 shots on April 14th 2019, no one could have seen the concussions, ankle surgery, and of course a global pandemic that would push Tyler Parsons to miss nearly two years of AHL hockey, and 13 months between his last ECHL start and his return to the crease in April 2021.

The once prized goaltending prospect of the team has seen his stock drastically tumble every year since graduating from the London Knights, and it has to assumed that this newest one-year renewal of his Flames services could be his last.

Despite the nearly complete lack of progression in his career since his professional hockey debut, there remains some inklings of hope that if he can just stay healthy and play his athletic, aggressive game once again there may still be hope him. I mean hey, he still makes this list despite younger goaltenders like Daniil Chechelev making significant career strides.

He clearly still has the faith of the Flames organization, and will have a solid running mate in Adam Werner with the Heat this season while Dustin Wolf begins his push upwards through the depth chart.

He returned to the ice on April 22nd, where he allowed 5 goals in a relatively solid outing. With his ankle surgery in December 2020 killing any chance of a training camp last year, you have to assume that a guy of his mental strength will use every possible avenue of support this season to get his career back on track.
