Calgary Flames All-Time International Roster: Team Finland

Goaltending will definitely be the strength of Finland

Next up in our list, Team Finland as the series continues. It’s same to say they will have a distinct goaltending advantage compared to their questionable forward and defense core.

Line 1: Niklas Hagman – Olli Jokinen – Juuka Hentunen

It will be on Olli Jokinen to carry the Finnish offense.

Line 2: Ville Nieminen – Markus Granlund – Tomi Maki

Considering the 2RW played exactly one NHL game, things are not exactly looking good up front for the Finns.

Line 3: Vesa Viitakoski – Kari Jalonen – Eetu Tuulola

Line 4: Aki Seitsonen – Marko Jantunen – Juuso Pustinen

I try to pride myself on knowing Flames and some of these names in the bottom six have gone right over my head.

Line 1: Kari Eloranta – Pekka Rautakallio

Line 2: Toni Lydman – Jyrki Jokipakka

A 2004 vet and one of the more fun names in Flames history make up the second pair.

Line 3: Juuso Valimaki – Sami Helenius

Valimaki will certainly climb higher as he plays more games and should undoubtedly be the top Finnish Flame defender.

Starter: Miikka Kiprusoff

319 NHL wins including 305 of those in the Flaming C, he will be expected to carry Finland’s roster. Of course he has tons of experience carrying teams, he did that in Calgary for a decade.

Backup: Karri Ramo

Ramo is a solid backup too, playing in over 100 games for the Flames and putting up 48 wins despite being around for the lowest parts of the rebuild.
