With NHL GM's digging through the cushions of their couches looking for spare change to sign players, rumours are flying across the league as to who is available and who might be going where.
Reports are suggesting that the Arizona Coyotes are shopping former #1 overall pick Taylor Hall. Hall came to Arizona by way of a trade from NJ during the 2019-20 season. Hall has played in 35 games with the 'Yotes and collected 27 points.
The 28 year old has plenty left in the tank, but is he a good fit in Calgary and for what kind of money? Hall just finished up a seven year contract that paid him $6 million per season and he's most likely going to be looking for something at least in that range money wise, if not more.
The Calgary native has had an interesting career arc to say the least. He was drafted #1 overall by the Edmonton Oilers in 2010 and was supposed to save the franchise. But as Edmonton has done all too often lately with franchise saviours, they squandered his time in Edmonton and Hall was sent packing to the Devils after the 2015-16 season. His tenure in NJ was frustrating for the talented winger for sure as the Devils weren't in any way, shape or form a contender. In the end NJ and Hall parted ways on December 16th, sending the former Hart Trophy winner to Arizona in exchange for three players and two picks.
Now it looks as if Hall will be on the move again as Arizona is looking to send the FA and his negotiating rights to the highest bidder.
