The Calgary Flames will be playing the Dallas Stars in the Round 16 thanks to a Stars shootout victory over the St. Louis Blues. The Flames won the season series 2-1 over the Stars with 3-2 and 5-1 wins in Dallas while Dallas won 3-1 in Calgary.
Calgary had previously lost six straight to the Stars. Dallas has struggled both before and during the bubble play, having lost nine straight games before today’s shootout win. They had also not scored in over 145 minutes before a late tying goal from Joe Pavelski.
Game 1 will go either Tuesday or Wednesday with the schedule released likely tonight.
