Statistical Summarization — CGY v LAK

A breakdown of who had good statistical showings and who didn’t from Calgary’s 4-3 win over the Kings last night.

Corsi King – The Crown tonight belongs to Andrew Mangiapane. In all situations he mustered up a corsi for of 11 and a corsi against of 8. Right behind him, and I mean right on his bumper, was Rasmus Andersson whose relative CF% actually matched Mangiapane’s at 14.71%.

Corsi Clown – Two games in a row for Travis Hamonic who got buried in his own end, especially late. A CF of 15 and a CA of 30 (OOF), but this is what can happen when you’re the go to guy on the pair that defends your own zone. The forward with the worst numbers was Michael Frolik.

Scoring Chance Leader – Rasmus Andersson led the way on the back end with 9 chances for which was tied up front by Matthew Tkachuk. Both were able to produce 2 of the 9 as high danger chances against as well.

xGF% Leader – Derek Ryan led the way (Looch wasn’t far behind) with an xGF% (expected goals for percentage) of 78.54%. Really brought a strong game to the table, Ryan did, and his continuing growth of chemistry with Lucic is a positive sight to see.

Game Flow

The Flames pushed the pace for 40 minutes again, really coming out strong and not letting the 2 quick powerplay goals from Kopitar and Doughty deter them. The kings came back in the third though, as the Flames shifted into more of a “protect the lead” play style rather than the push the pace we saw in the start. The Flames really need to do something about wrapping up their games properly. (Game Flow chart displayed shows 5v5 play)

Game Score – Last nights Game Score leader was Dillon Dube, pulling in a score of 3.50. Dube shifted into that 3rd line slot he was familiar with alongside Derek Ryan (2.48) and Milan Lucic (2.20) to help drive the game. Tonights duds were Cam Talbot (-1.04) and Michael Frolik (-0.67).
