The Morning After St. Louis: St. Louis Is The Gateway To Goals

Calgary’s 7 goals against the Blues isn’t that out of the ordinary.

Calgary Flames 7 – St. Louis Blues 2

Well, who saw that coming? St. Louis has been a house of horrors for the Flames (2-8-0 in their last 10), but Calgary exercised some of those demons with a 7-2 trouncing of the Blues Sunday afternoon. Here’s the rest of the best that wasn’t covered in our recap or Rate The Flames.

NHL Standings

-Tkachuk’s Home: Matthew Tkachuk scored the opening goal of the contest, his 15th of the season. It’s a noteworthy tally because it’s the first time he’s scored IN St. Louis, his hometown.

-Lindholm Is Good: Not sure if you’ve heard, but Elias Lindholm is good…like REALLY good. He scored his 17th goal of the season yesterday, tying his career high from 2014-15. By the way, we’re only 34 games into the 2018-19 season. Let that sink in.

-7: Calgary hung 7 goals on the Blues yesterday, making it the 3rd time they’ve scored 7 times on an opponent in 34 games so far this season. In 82 games last year the Flames only did that twice, oddly enough one was against the Blues.
