The Calgary Flames take on the second best team in the league in points percentage, the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Lightning have some of the best puck possession numbers in the league, but the Flames are right there with them. Even strength, this is a pretty tight matchup.
Special teams are a different story. The Flames special teams are hot trash while Tampa Bay is fifth in the league. Any dumb penalties could spell doom for the Flames particularly given their lackluster luck shooting the puck recently.
The lineup is exactly the same tonight as it was against the Vegas Golden Knights. The Flames played well, but once again coughed up a lead that they didn't deserve to lose. Vegas scored ten seconds later to permanently take the lead and iced it with an empty netter. If Calgary plays like they did at even strength, that should be enough to amount to a victory, but again the special teams…
Puck drop is at 7:05 P.M. M.S.T. It's on Sportsnet 360 tonight.
