The Calgary Flames are back at home after going 0-2 on a miniature road trip as they take on the New York Rangers. The Rangers are one of the worst teams in the league right now and are running with the worst possession numbers. Given that this is a home game, that should make it pretty easy for the Flames.

Unfortunately, nothing is ever pretty easy for the Flames. Nick Shore is through with his illness and will come in, but Micheal Ferland is still banged up and Curtis Lazar is either injured or in the doghouse. That means that that the bottom will consist of Troy Brouwer and Nick Shore on wing for the third line and Tanner Glass and Garnet Hathaway on the other – that’s going to make victory very hard to come by regardless of whomever the opponent might be.

Jon Gillies is back in net for the Flames. David Rittich has been nothing short of putrid since Mike Smith went down and probably finds his roster spot in jeopardy once Smith gets back. Gillies will go against sure-fire hall-of-famer Henrik Lundqvist.
