The Calgary Flames play their 69th game of the season in the nation’s capital as they take on the Ottawa Senators. The Flames are looking to go on a points streak after accruing three points in their last two games. While tonight’s game isn’t exactly a must win, it’s as close as it gets to one as the Flames currently sit with a 20 percent chance at the playoffs and the games don’t get much easier than this.
The Senators are an absolutely woeful team – one of the worst teams in the league by nearly every margin. They aren’t much better than the Buffalo Sabres who the Flames dispatched pretty easily in their last game. A win here would increase the Flames odds at the playoffs over 25 percent again according to Sportsclubstats.com.
There will not be any changes to the lineup tonight. David Rittich will get the start in net. He’ll go up against Mike Condon who’s been slightly above average on the season.
Puck drop is at 5:35 P.M. M.S.T. at the Canadian Tire Center. Your tire fire puns would be greatly appreciated.
