The Calgary Flames road trip comes to an end in Denver as they take on the Colorado Avalanche. The Avalanche somehow are ahead of the Flames in points percentage and to be quite frank it’s really befuddling as they aren’t really a hockey team that does anything well. Their power play is okay and they’re good at drawing penalties. One might say that it’s their bread and butter, thus if the Flames stay out of the box they should be able to pick up the two points.
Matt Bartkowski is in for Brett Kulak for reasons unknown. Bartkowski is awful. Kris Versteeg has been scratched for Matt Stajan. While Stajan deserves to be in the lineup, it should be at the expense of Troy Brouwer, Curtis Lazar, Mark Jankowski, or Sam Bennett who have all been awful and not Versteeg who has been mediocre.
David Rittich will pick up his first N.H.L. start. Going from undrafted to starting an N.H.L. game in net is quite the feat and hopefully his feel good story can continue after tonight. It would be quite difficult for him to do any worse than Eddie Lack who had the fourth-worst five-on-five save percentage of any goalie that registered a single minute this season.
Puck drop is at 8:05 P.M. See you there!
