The Calgary Flames southeastern trip continues as they take on the Carolina Hurricanes. The Flames have been very impressive thus far, taking it to the first place Tampa Bay Lightning and then beating the Florida panthers in a schedule loss. They’re going streaking as they say and will look to continue their recent run of dominance.
They’ll be doing that without Sean Monahan however who is out with illness. Monahan will be replaced by Sam Bennett while Andrew Mangiapane is back with the surprisingly effective tandem of Mark Jankowski and Garnet Hathaway. This is the first time they’ll play together on the Flames, but they were dominant in Stockton.
Mike Smith will start for the Flames tonight. He’s up against Scott Darling. Darling has been a bit of a disappointment for the Hurricanes, but they’re not necessarily worse for the ware and are still fighting for a playoff spot in the absurd Metropolitan division.
Puck drop will be at 1:05 P.M. M.S.T.
