The Calgary Flames eastern road trip continues as they take on the second best team by points percentage in the Boston Bruins. Calgary is coming off of a gutty, incredible win where it was unfortunate that they didn’t win by more. They had downed the New York Islanders by a score of three to two, but dominated them at even strength.
Boston is going to be a considerably tougher task than the Islanders however. The Bruins are the top possession team in the league in just about every metric. The Flames aren't too far behind them in that aspect, but they've had much better puck luck than the Flames have had so far this season. In addition to all of this, they have tremendous special teams as opposed to the Flames who have tremendously awful special teams.
David Rittich gets the call tonight as he replaces the injured Mike smith. He’ll be up against Tuukka Rask. It’s going to be a tough task for Rittich against this stellar Bruins team – if he weathers this one well it would be a great sign of things to come for the Flames.
