#16: Oliver Kylington
Position: D
Age: 21
Team: Stockton Heat (AHL)
Draft: 2015, Round 2 #60th Overall
Last Year: #15
Voting Points: 1568
Well, thereโs no way Oliver Kylington wasnโt a bit intrigued by the Flames placing Brett Kulak on waivers on July 19th. While it could just be an arbitration game, Kylington should be a little excited. The Swedish defenceman has really come on strong in the last 2 seasons in Stockton and he could make a serious push in training camp.
Kylington has been durable at the AHL level, playing in 122 games over the last 2 seasons. Heโs totaled 62 points over those 2 seasons (49 of those assists) with the Heat and heโs seen time on the international stage as well. In 2016-17 he saw 15 games with Swedenโs U20 teams and did very well.
What happens with Brett Kulak could directly affect where Kylington lands, but his play has certainly made him a candidate to be wearing a Flames uniform sooner rather than later.
