Calgary Flames
Preview: Calgary Flames vs Vegas Golden Knights 4/7/18 (82/82): A Miserable Season Ends Tonight
Can the Flames stop the red hot William Karlsson? Doubt it.
Calgary Flames vs Vegas Golden Knights, 8 PM MT, Scotiabank Saddledome, Calgary AB
The Flames final home game of 2017-18 sees the Pacific Division Champion Golden Knights visit the Saddledome to close out the season. The Flames have dropped 9 out of their last 10 and theyโve dropped all 3 games against the expansion Golden Knights. Calgaryโs abysmal home record 16-20-4 and Vegas wonโt make this easy, even if theyโve already clinched the division. The Golden Knights are 22-13-5 on the road this season, including a 4-2 win at the Saddledome on January 30th. The last time these two meet William Karlsson collected a hat trick in an 8 minute span of the 2nd period and sunk the Flames 4-0.
Calgary canโt score 5 v 5. Calgary canโt score on the PP. This game is an excruciating exercise in futility to end the season. Donโt expect much from the home team tonight as they packed it in and quit a month ago. All thatโs left is the HOPE of a respectable end to 2017-18 season.

Players To Watch
Calgary Flames
Johnny Gaudreau (F). Itโs been a frustrating end of the season for Johnny Gaudreau. He lost his top line mate in Sean Monahan, his father had a major medical scare and the Flames have just been terrible all around. Gaudreau hasnโt scored since March 16th and heโs one assist shy of 60, which would make him the first Flame since Theo Fleury to collect 60 helpers. Maybe he can close out the season with one point and at least give the fan something to cheer for?
Vegas Golden Knights
William Karlsson (C). The 25 year old native of Sweden has had a career resurrection since coming to Vegas. He has 78 points this season, 43 of those points are goals. His previous career high was 25 points TOTAL in 81 games last season with Columbus. He has 9 points in his last 5 games and he had a hat trick the last time he played the Flames.
