Freddie Hamilton Inks Deal With Flames
The older of the Hamilton’s signed a 2 year deal with the Flames on Thursday.
The Flames have been busy today signing players to PTO deals and now they’ve added another piece up front. Freddie Hamilton and the Flames have agreed on a 2 year contract:
Calgary #Flames resigned RFA Freddie Hamilton
2 year deal / 1 way deal
$612,500 cap hit
2016-17: $575,000
2017-18: $650,000— CapFriendly (@CapFriendly) September 22, 2016
The deal is extremely cap friendly for the Flames and the money they could eventually save on Ladislav Smid’s deal will help their cap situation. The 1 way deal allows Hamilton to play in either Stockton or Calgary at the same rate and gives Calgary another offensive weapon.
The Flames signed Hamilton last season after he had a brief stint with the Colorado Avalanche. In 4 games with Calgary last season Hamilton had 2 points (1 G, 1 A) and won 57% of his faceoffs.
