Washington: Filip Forsberg was one that got away in his first trade, when the Washington Capitals infamously dumped him in Nashville for Martin Erat. Oops. It sounds like Forsberg, who already has 26 goals this season, is back on the NHL trade block.

There are some other big names who could be dealt …

Will J.T. Miller be one of them? Twitter was ablaze with rumour accounts claiming Miller would be traded in moments. Vancouver Canucks GM Patrik Allvin said firmly he’s trying to keep Miller. The Calgary Flames were rumoured to be into Miller and Conor Garland before landing Toffoli.

TSN: There are a lot of defensemen (but mostly lefties) on top of the TSN Trade Bait board.

Sportsnet: Even the biggest Toronto haters feel this sad story. Maple Leafs prospect Rodion Amirov was diagnosed with a brain tumor.

San Jose: This seems ridiculous, but it’s true. The San Jose Sharks are NOT rebuilding.

Montreal: These Canadiens have been through hell and back. Injuries. They lost their captain (Shea Weber) to severe injury and retirement, lost their goalie (Carey Price) to injury and personal issues, and played without fans in a very restrictive province. GM gone. Coach gone. And like a dandelion through the sidewalk, with Marty St. Louis as the coach, the Montreal Canadiens have won four in a row.
