It’s been a long time coming, but the Seattle NHL franchise finally has a name: Kraken. The franchise and the NHL made it official on Thursday that the league’s 32nd team with be known as the Seattle Kraken. This name has been thrown about since the city and league came to an agreement to add Seattle to the Pacific Division, so it’s no surprise that it ended up being the final choice.
The logo is fairly simple and the color scheme is solid as well. This could have gone horribly array with a crazy, goofy logo that would have made the franchise look like a joke, but it didn’t go that route. Seattle chose something fairly simple and unique that will surely be an instant hit with fans of the team and across the league.
The Kraken will take the Arizona Coyotes spot in the Pacific Division when they begin play in 2021-22.
