The Flames and Maple Leafs played an incredibly exciting game that ended in a shootout, with the Flames collecting two points in a 2-1 victory.

David Rittich was an absolute STAR last night as he looks like he’s regained that confidence we’d seen all season long before his minor slump. His game changing play was on full display and no more than evidenced in his huge blocker save at the 5:17 mark of the third period. With the score tied at 1-1 the Flames turned the puck over and the Maple Leafs headed in a 3 on 1. Auston Matthews would receive the puck with a chance to bury the game winner, but Rittich did this:

And that folks, is why the man is known as Big Save Dave.
