The Calgary Flames are coming off their worst loss of the year and will hope to rebound tonight against the Vancouver Canucks. The Flames were blanked last night by Craig Anderson while Mike Smith was pulled for the first time this year. The six to nothing loss marked the end of the Flames three game winning streak.

Vancouver represents the perfect team to rebound against. They've been relying almost entirely on luck and penalty differential as they come in with some of the worst possession metrics in the league. If the Flames can stay disciplined, they should be able to take two points in this one.

Mike Smith will get the start in net despite getting pulled in the first game of a back-to-back. Starting the same goalie in back-to-back games is generally a bad idea; hopefully this isn’t a decision that will come back to bite the team. Some thought that Eddie Lack might get the start against his former team, but apparently that wasn’t meant to be.
