Published

on

Back off, Oilers. Haven’t you heard Evan Rodrigues is of interest to the Calgary Flames? Edmonton papers are beginning to zero in on Rodrigues as the right free-agent fit for the Oilers. Both the Flames and Oilers are looking to add to the wing. It looks like another rivalry is still relevant. Canada beat the U.S. for gold at the World Championships, and players for Team USA promptly blasted Canada for diving.

Edmonton Journal writer Kirk Levine  is hearing Evan Rodrigues could be a PTO signing with the Oilers … if he accepts a PTO. E-Rod is the no. 2 item on the list.

Calgary Flames fans have been intrigued by Rodrigues, a fancy stats darling, ever since he was rumoured to be on the list of players the Flames have been looking at in free agency in the later stages of summer.

Meanwhile, we pitched the idea of adding Jumbo Joe Thornton on a PTO to sprinkle some of his knowledge and commitment to the Calgary Flames group this fall.
