Calgary Flames goaltender Dan Vladar

The Calgary Flames are streaking. After dropping their first two games of the season, they’ve put together road victories in Detroit and Washington to improve their record to 2-1-1 in the Pacific Division.

Saturday’s 4-3 overtime win in the matinee against the Capitals offered a lot to digest.

There was the Johnny Gaudreau game puck after two assists took him to 500 NHL points in 524 regular-season games.

Dan Vladar earned the win in his first start for the Flames.

And, of course, Elias Lindholm netted his second career hat-trick – including the overtime winner.

Let’s take a look at the takeaways, good and bad.
