The Daily: Flames Turning Point, Lafreniere Available in NHL Trade?

The Calgary Flames had a big win in Seattle but could they add another weapon in Alexis Lafrieniere on the NHL trade market?

The NHL is back in full swing and the Calgary Flames might have had a turning-point game on Wednesday. The Pittsburgh Penguins, meanwhile, had a dramatic “wow” collapse against the Detroit Red Wings. The Washington Capitals are getting healthier. The Vegas Golden Knights have a goalie for the NHL trade market. The San Jose Sharks are chasing the season, and did Martin St. Louis make unforced errors behind the Montreal Canadiens bench? Also, is former first-overall pick Alexis Lafreniere on the trade block?

The Flames looked good in a 3-2 win against the Seattle Kraken — at least for the final 20 minutes or so. Could be a jumping off point for the next stage of the NHL Season.

Alexis Lafrieniere is a healthy scratch after a brutal New York Rangers game. Is it a message or an opportunity for someone to scoop him via an NHL trade? Should the Calgary Flames be knocking?

San Jose Hockey Now: The Sharks say they haven’t given up on the season, but the gap in the standings is probably going to be too much to overcome.

NYI Hockey Now: Guess who might be in line for his first start of the season for the Islanders? Cory Schneider (Yes, that Cory Schneider)

LA Hockey Now: He may have been the second overall pick, but that doesn’t mean Quinton Byfield will get put in a scoring role after his most recent call-up.

Pittsburgh Hockey Now: WOW. What the?! After going up 4-0 in the first period, the Penguins collapsed and lost 5-4 in overtime to the Detroit Red Wings.

Detroit Hockey Now: From the flip side, Detroit had an epic comeback against Pittsburgh and an epic celebration to go with it.

Washington Hockey Now: The Capitals are gaining ground in the packed Metro standings and might be gaining a few more players back from injury here real soon. Washington Capitals news.
