Calgary Flames
HOTN: A Powerplay Beauty
Calgary’s top PP unit had 2 goals on Saturday
Highlight of the Night
Calgary Flames 4 – Philadelphia Flyers 0
With the Flames winning their sixth game in a row, things are good in Calgary. There were a number of nice plays in tonight’s win but this one play in particular stands out. With the Flames leading 1-0 in the third period but very much in need of an insurance marker, the top powerplay unit went to work. Some nice forechecking from Sean Monahan would lead to a turnover, and then Monahan would find Elias Lindholm cross-crease. That pass alone would have been a highlight goal if Lindholm scored, but instead Lindholm went back across the crease to Matthew Tkachuk who ripped a one-timer past Carter Hart who made a valiant effort but the puck movement was just too crisp. The goal gave Calgary some key breathing room which they rode to a 4-0. Check it out below! Click here if you can’t see it.
