Zac Rinaldo Is Heading To Columbus

The Flames have ended a second relationship with a #36 this summer.

Zac Rinaldo is heading Southeast for the 2021-22 season by signing a one year, two way deal with the Columbus Blue Jackets. The former Flames forward has moved on after two uneven seasons with Calgary.

In his time with the Flames Rinaldo spent limited time on the Calgary roster and was mostly a scratch or skating with the Stockton Heat. He was brought in to add some toughness to Calgary's roster, but his limited ice time kept him from exercising that truculence.

He played in a total of 23 games and collected only 5 points between 2019-2021. His 2021 season saw Rinaldo play in the least amount of games in his career, four, and provided him with the only season where he failed to register a point.

Rinaldo is a nine year NHL veteran, playing in 374 games overall and scoring 18 goals and dishing out 24 assists. He's had stops in Philadelphia, Boston and Nashville before calling Calgary home for two campaigns.
