MGMacGillivray: D – I mean Nordstrom was more or less exactly what we expected him to be, a decent PK player who didn’t add much of anything at even strength. He was fine and fit the same sort of role as Tobias Rieder in the previous year, although I think the Flames got a lot more out of Rieder and I wish they had been able to keep him. He’s already signed with CSKA Moscow of the KHL, so happy trails Joakim.

MarkParkinson14: D I’m not trying to be mean, I just feel that Nordstrom really didn’t do anything to affect the Flames this season. He played (surprisingly) in 44 games and registered only 7 points. His game wasn’t overly effective and truth be told, it would have been better to see a younger Flames player get the ice time instead. The Swedish forward isn’t under contract with the Flames for 2022 and it wouldn’t shock me if this was the end of the run for both parties.

MadelineCampbell: F This feels harsh, but like Mark said, it just really didn’t seem to be working for Nordstrom this season. Maybe the F should go more to the Flames’ management that thought this fit was going to be a good one, it’s not really Nordstrom’s fault that it didn’t work out. But, that said, it really was not working for him this season, and it’s hard to call this experiment anything other than a failure.
