The Morning After Edmonton: Look! A Lead!

The Flames held a lead after one period. What world are we living in?

The Morning After

Calgary Flames 2 – Edmonton Oilers 3

RecapNHL Standings

-There’s a First: After the first period the Flames had a 1-0 lead thanks to a Johnny Gaudreau power play goal. The goal was Gaudreau’s team leading 10th of the season. More significantly, it was the first time the Flames had a lead after the first period in five games.

-Speaking Of Firsts: Noah Hanifin put the Flames up 2-1 with less than two minutes gone in the third period. The marker was his first on the season.

-And One Last First: Congrats to Ryan Huska as he coached his first ever NHL game on Saturday night.

-Not Lovin’ It: Connor McDavid was on full display after being held without a point by the Toronto Maple Leafs in three straight games. Last night McDavid collected two assists and a goal, giving him five goals and five assists in four games against Calgary this season. That’s a problem.
