The Morning After Toronto: Mangiapane Continues To Be Hot

February was quite the month for the Bread Man.

The Morning After

Calgary Flames 1 – Toronto Maple Leafs 2 (OT)

RecapNHL Standings

-PK Studs: Blame the zebra’s, blame the Flames. Either way the Calgary PK units were overworked during this two game series with the Maple Leafs and they were rock solid. Calgary had to play man down (one 5 v 3) 11 times, four last night, and they shut down the NHL’s leading PP all 11 times.

-Coming Up Empty: Two nights in a row the Flames had a chance to put a puck in the empty net and two times they failed. Though tonight’s empty net gaffe by Elias Lindholm hurt more because it could have put the Flames up 2-0, but he hit the post, Toronto scored shortly after and won it in OT. Lesson learned: put the puck in the empty net.

-Warm Bread: Andrew Mangiapane is really starting to heat up. He had the Flames only goal on the night and has nine of his 10 points on the season in February. He also has three goals in his last five games.
