Who’s Hot, Who’s Not: Flames & Maple Leafs

Two Flames defencemen made the list as well as a former Flames blue liner.

As the Flames and Maple Leafs head into game three of their nine game regular season series we’re taking a look at who’s the hottest player on each squad and who could use a little pick me up to get their mojo working again. Here’s Who’s Hot & Who’s Not.

Flames: Rasmus Andersson

Andersson has been solid on the blue line all season and we’ve all been waiting for his offence to take off and it’s been getting warm as of late. He has points in three of his last five games, upping his totals to 3 goals and 7 assists on the season. He also has 10 SOG over his last two games.

Maple Leafs: Mitch Marner

Marner has been a point producing machine in the month of February and his last five games have been other worldly. In his last five games he has three goals and six assists and that’s the perfect snapshot for this month so far. In nine games since the calendar turned to February he has four goals and twelve assists.

Flames: Mark Giordano

The Flames Captain is really in a funk this season. He’s making bad decisions without the puck, taking bad shots with the puck on his stick and his point production has fallen off a cliff since his Norris Trophy season from two years ago. He has only two points in his last five games and only 1 goal in his last 15 skates.

Maple Leafs: T.J. Brodie

For an offensive minded team, Brodie hasn’t had the best of luck since trading in the Flaming C for the Maple Leaf. Brodie only has one point this month and hasn’t found the back of the net at ALL this season. His five points puts him 13th on the Maple Leafs roster, four points behind Joe Thornton who has only played in nine games as compared to Brodie’s 19 games played.
