Calgary Flames 3 Nashville Predators 5

The Flames weren’t able to handle the Predators last night, falling to Nashville 5-3. The Preds pumped in 2 third period goals to sink the Flames in the second meeting of the two teams this season. Here’s the rest of the best that wasn’t covered in the recap or Rate The Flames.

Tidbits

-Is this the real Bennett?: Sam Bennett scored last night, upping his point total on the season to 3. He has points in 3 of his last 4 games and is already halfway to his point total for the first two months of last season.

-Is this the real Smitty?: Lots of questions this morning and the goaltending is on the list. Mike Smith has shown a disturbing trend of playing lights out, followed by a clunker. Now, this was Nashville, so it’s not like he lost to Arizona. But his up and down play is something the Flames should keep an eye on.

-Lindholm Paying Off: Elias Lindholm continued to be a potent weapon for the Flames offence last night, scoring his 5th goal and getting a helper on Matthew Tkachuk’s 2nd period goal. Lindholm leads the Flames with 5 goals and is 13 of the way to his goal total from last season after only 7 games.
