Dillon Dube and Juuso Valimaki headline players making the jump

The Calgary Flames have announced their 23 man roster for the 2018-19 season. Hereโ€™s a position by position breakdown

Forwards: Derek Ryan, Mikael Backlund, Johnny Gaudreau, James Neal, Matthew Tkachuk, Curtis Lazar, Garnet Hathaway, Sean Monahan, Austin Czarnik, Elias Lindholm, Dillon Dube, Michael Frolik, Mark Jankowski, Sam Bennett

Defence: Mark Giordano, Dalton Prout, TJ Brodie, Juuso Valimaki, Travis Hamonic, Mike Stone, Noah Hanifin

Goalie: David Rittich, Mike Smith

Dillon Dube and Juuso Valimaki will be both making the transition straight from junior hockey to the NHL. There arenโ€™t many surprises with this roster, with Andrew Mangiapane and Rasmus Andersson starting the year in Stockton rather than being stuck in the press box in Calgary. Anthony Peluso and Jon Gillies were the other final cuts. The trade of Brett Kulak yesterday meant the Flames only needed to make four cuts.

Dube will wear #29 and Valimaki will wear #8 this season.
