MarkParkinson14: (D) When all is said and done T.J. Brodie will NOT look back on 2017-18 with fond memories. Brodie was finally unshackled from the human anchor that was Dennis Wideman and he looked lost for most of the season. This year will be remembered for the multitude of turnovers by Brodie that lead to goals that would sink the Flames. Brodie never really gelled with Travis Hamonic and there either needs to be a change in partners OR a complete change of scenery.

MGMacGillivray: (C-) It was a pretty tough year for Brodie as he struggled most of the season while paired with Travis Hamonic. He got injured late in the season, after which Hamonic looked better in his new pairings. It may be a wiser decision to use Brodie as trade bait this summer because he still has value as a middle pairing defenseman, but may not fit well in Calgary, especially with the D prospects beginning to push.

MilhouseFirehouse: (C-) I’m sure there’s not much I need to add to the Brodie discussion. People will jump on the “trade him” bandwagon, but I’m not really sure what, if any, kind of trade value he has right now. TJ’s proverbial snowball continued to roll downhill this year, so put him in the boat with several other players that are hoping for things to get turned around under a new coaching staff.
