MGMacGillivray: (C) I thought Stajan was pretty much what we expected him to be for most of the season, and I thought he even hit another gear towards the end of the season. It was nice to see him hit the 1000 game mark in what could be his final NHL season and almost definitely his final season in Calgary. On the ice he was a reliable fourth liner and he was an even better person off the ice.

MilhouseFirehouse: (C+) Raginโ€™ Staj had a surprisingly well rounded year. Hitting 1000 career games at 34 and a bottom six guy, he managed to find ways to contribute as a role player for good stretches. He showed some serious competitive fire, and down the stretch might have been the most motivated guy on the bench. And of course, he is a well documented giant in the locker room and in the community. Despite all that, his contract was an incessant topic of conversation (IE complaining) for most of the negative nation, but that finally comes off the books next year. Iโ€™m sure heโ€™ll find a nice desk job somewhere in the organization, although if it were up to the Flames I canโ€™t help but think theyโ€™ll at least take a look at him for one more year to test the waters, albeit at a bottom basement discount that a veteran fourth liner of his ilk is actually worth.
