Hereโ€™s the rest of the best of what wasnโ€™t covered in the Recap or Rate The Flames from Calgaryโ€™s 5-1 victory over the Buffalo Sabres.

Sean Monahan Milestone

Sean Monahan got the monkey off his back, scoring for only the 3rd time in his last 14 games. Lighting the lamp must have been a sight for sore eyes for the Flames star centre, but it was also a career milestone. His goal at 6:01 of the second period was his 30th of the season. This is only the second time heโ€™s reached the 30 goal plateau, with the last time being in 2014-15 when he scored 31 times.

Speaking Of Scoring

Dougie Hamilton scored his 15th goal of the season on the power play tonight, giving him 38 points on the season. His 15 goals have him tied with P.K. Subban for the most goals scored by a defenceman this season.

Streaks Are Snapped

The Flames snapped a four game losing skid tonight, their second losing streak of at least 4 games this season. They also snapped a three game losing streak in Buffalo with their 5-1 win Wednesday night.

Itโ€™s Been A While

A Flames victory in Buffalo is a rare thing seeing their record there is 14-33-5. Before tonightโ€™s win, they had last won in Buffalo back in 2014. Prior to that? A 3-1 victory in 1996. German Titov had a 2 point night and Rick Tabaracci stopped 32 of the 33 shots he faced.

Playoff Update

The Flames are currently at 76 points, which puts them 1 point behind the Kings for the last Wild Card spot in the Western Conference. They are 6th in the Pacific and in 10th place in the West.
