Here’s the rest of the best of what wasn’t covered in the Recap or Rate The Flames from Calgary’s 2-1 OT loss to the Boston Bruins.



-OT Blues: Calgary has now dropped 3 out their last 4 games that have ended in overtime. Overall the Flames record in OT on the season is 7-4.

-Final Stat Line: After registering only 4 shots in the first period the Flames were able to finish with 29 shots, only 3 less than the Bruins.

-Rittich Is Good: By surrendering only two goals against Boston, David Rittich has allowed 3 goals or less in 9 games this season. The loss makes him 6-3-2 on the season and 1-2-1 since taking over for the injured Mike Smith.

-Another Day, Another PPG: Matthew Tkachuk’s PPG against the Bruins was the Flames was their 3rd straight game with a power play marker and their 5th time in 6 games they’ve scored with the man advantage.

Debut Night: Morgan Klimchuk made his NHL debut last night for the Flames. Klimchuk saw 7:25 of ice time, the lowest on the team. He didn’t register a shot in 13 shifts.

Highlight Of The Night

Despite being on the losing end of a 2-1 decision, David Rittich may have had the save of the game on a Ryan Spooner breakaway. Spooner got behind Michael Stone and Brett Kulak and Rittich flashed some serious leather.
